About Jess

I’ve been searching for myself everywhere.

My story is a series of left turns. Family photos depict a rural Texas girl who lived with her feet in the mud and her eyes to the sky. I spent the small years rambling around with my younger brother in a creek bed, fishing for crawdads and making uneasy friends with a lot of poison ivy.

After studing Music Business at Belmont University in Nashville, I worked for a performing rights organization managing music royalties. In 2010, the Great Recession catalyzed a move into a fast-paced technology world, and I relocated to the Midwest where I garnered a taste for cheese curds, a tall husband, Arrow the rescue dog, and a genetic secret that unglued my family identity. Thus began a race to discover the truth that had been hidden in plain sight, and a journey to reclaim my sense of belonging.
